As per title... click!.

No other details released mind you. Not sure where the distributor is sourcing the transfer from.

Thanks to LD @ Bullets for the info.

Yes!  My All Region is on its way and this will most likely be my first purchase for it.  Thanks for the heads, this is Woo's best movie imo.

ps-I saw that dudes question on your best of 05 list - did you ever find out what the hell that was supposed to mean?

It'll be one of life's unanswered mysteries. Happy

Good job on the all region player. Better late than never but you should have a wealth of choice now, especially from the Far East.

Well, its oddly funny regardless.

After getting hooked on all the Korean stuff last couple years, Ive fallen really behind in watching new stuff coming from that region.  And now with my All Region (FINALLY), I can start catching up.  Can you suggest some others?  My favorites are: Infernal Affairs Trilogy, JSA, Memories of Murder, Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Save the Green Planet, A Bittersweet Life.

Last life in the universe and 3-Iron were interesting, but not quite my cup o' tea.  I have Spider Forest, Yesterday, Il Mare, Addicted and Ditto on the way.

Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

There are some top titles in your list. I suggest the following movies to put your multi region player to good use:

Bullet in the Head
My Sassy Girl
Oasis
Azumi (Japanese director's cut)
A Tale of Two Sisters
Taegukgi
Zatoichi
Ichi the Killer (make sure it's uncut!)
Brother (Takeshi Kitano)
A World Without Thieves
Shutter
The Quiet Family
Sex is Zero

Did you ever get the Japanese Azumi? I still haven't seen the film and was holding out for the DC, but there's no way I'm paying £30 for it. Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is also worth looking at. I preferred it to Mr. Vengeance, but that could be because the Korean DVD I had failed to translate a lot of the written word in the film and I'm sure I missed plot-points because of it.

Musa is a pretty good Korean flick. If you like mental, silly action films with little plot then Volcano High might be your cup of tea. That Brotherhood movie is also supposed to be very good, but I haven't watched it yet (had the DVD for a while). Still need to get a copy of JSA as well. I'll never have time to watch all of these mind you Wink

Oh, another great korean film I saw a couple of years ago was Champion, the story of Kim Duk-gu, a boxer who was killed in the ring (well, he died in hospital). Much better than Rocky.

The Japanese Azumi DVD is difficult to get and annoyingly, it's the only director's cut version with English subs. £30+ is a lot to spend on one movie.

Chris, please buy JSA. I reckon you'll probably enjoy it more than Lady Vengeance (judging by your thoughts). Personally, it's my favourite Park Chan-wook title (joint with Oldboy). Sod the extras, just get the best transfer + DTS. You will thank me for it. Taegukgi (Brotherhood) is a top movie as well.

Aye, I'm probably gonna watch Brotherhood tonight if I can convince he Mrs. Do you know what the best version of JSA is off of the top of your head? Been stung with a few interlaced transfers lately. The Korean SE is OOP from what I remember.

You're right, the Korean version is OOP everywhere.

You could risk the Region 1... I don't have any idea of that release though. I know interlaced transfers annoy you but I tolerate them ok. I'm happy with my Tartan R2.
