A New Grease Special Edition is on the way
If you were like me you were mad at the not so special dvd release of Grease when Paramount released it a few years back.  It was hyped to be a great release but when it came out well.. lets just say as VH1 special from 1998 wasn't the greatest extra. Now Paramount is going to release a great DVD.  This DVD release promises to have all the stuff we have dreamed of.  Deleted scenes cast comentary and more. I cant waite!

It's happening, trust.  New Line's also prepping a Nightmare on Elm Street Infinifilm release for later this year, pretty excited about that one too.

Wouldn't ya know Paramount is going the ol'e dumb title route by calling it the 'Rockin Rydell' release.

They need to just put out Platinum Editions.  Those Infinifilms to me, are dumb ideas.  I don't want to interupt the movie every four seconds to watch a bonus feature, just keep them seperate.

This gimmicky feature seems to be what the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray camps think we want, (albeit with the film actually continuing to play) as we watch tiny 'pop out' behind the scenes clips.

I don't mind this as a feature as long as the clips can be accessed elsewhere on the disc to watch as stand alone featurettes. I remember trying to watch these clips on the first release of The Matrix, not being arsed to wait for the next white rabbit, and just going through them by hitting the skip chapter button before the clip ended. Slightly of thread but there we have it.

I found the source too. And Australia is also getting this, and it comes in a 2 Disc Set. Comes out in region 1 in September. Australia Region 4 follows two weeks after.

I love Grease. I almost bought the last version from Wal-Mart but they only had full screen copies. I'm glad I passed on it, this is great news.
