I wonder if Kevin Smith will write the eulogy?
No one posted anything becuase it's about as valuable as finding out someone you barely know's uncle died. It's a bummer, your heart goes out to the family, but you don't lose any sleep because the dead person had absolutly zero baring on your life.

Which is exactly how I saw his reviews...I can't remember the last time I've paid any attention to either Joel Siegel or Gene Shalit.

Now if Maitland McDonagh, Bey Logan, Tim Lucas, Roger Ebert, or Kim Newman dies, I'll be posting in the forum.
the only critics that I ever liked and respected, even though I never agreed with them completely, were Siskel and Ebert. I'd also mourn the passing of Leonard Maltin. I like his stage presense and his knowledge and love of films. I don't think I've ever seen a review by Siegel
We'd be screwed if Leonard Maltin died. That would only leave Mega Poitier and Robert Smith-o to defend us against Mecha Streisand.

I've always liked Ebert, but have loved him ever since he named Dark City the best film of the year in 1998. Anyone who hasn't done so already should give his commentary track on the DVD a listen--it's really good stuff.

Maltin is a bit of a sap, but he's not as bad as so many claim.

Nice South Park joke and I've only seen the Mecha Streisand season, almost didn't get it.
I don't care if Maltin is considered a bit of a sap, I like him.
