Akira Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira is being remade as 2 live action films. Leonardo DiCaprio is producing, Ruari Robinson directs and the location is moved from New Tokyo to New Manhattan.

The second i read that DiCaprio was involved i thought it was a bad idea.

I remember reading that James Cameron looked at making a live action version of Akira before he did Titanic but abandoned it when the esimated budget came in at $300million

I love that. I mean, look at 11 years ago, when Ridley Scott was going to have a go at "I am Legend" with Arnie. They pulled the plug because it would end up costing $100-$150 Million.

Yes Nic we had tea and scones in his mini sub by the Titanic and thats when he told me.

I didn't really think Akira was all that superb. I mean it wasn't terrible, but not as great as some people make it out to be. I guess I am in the minority on this though, maybe it was just over hyped before I watched it.
