I don't normally blind buy, but I went a bit mad at Christmas. Among others, I bought:
Sympathy for Lady Vengenace, Man on Fire, Collateral, Mean Girls, Ong-Bak, Jurassic Park boxed set (never seen the sequels).

I think Stevie Wonder has got a DVD out. <-- I know I'm going to hell, sorry.
I often see films coming out at the cinema but don`t get chance to go and see them ,one of the great things about having a family really so I go out and buy them, "Sin City" springs to mind

These days, I only buy films that I've never seen before, as I rarely watch them more than once.
My latest will be Do The Right Thing Criterion on Friday.
If somebody I trust says your like it, i'll go out a buy 80% of the time

My best blind buy to date was Oldboy. Titus was another good one. Cabin Fever was pretty good.
Out of interest how is a "blind buy" defined?
If it's what I think it is then probably 95% of DVDs I buy, I haven't seen before. I tend to rely on IMDb rating, forum recommendations or even looking for a director's other work.
Some of the ones I had absolutely no idea about when buying were: Oldboy, Spider, Tesis, My Sassy Girl, Das Experiment, Il Mare, A Tale of Two Sisters... I'll stop there as it'll go on forever. Bear in mind that's over a year ago as I've hardly bought anything since.

Mal, you seem pretty proud of your lack of purchases. You bring it up all the time. Yes, you have more willpower than me, are you happy now?!?
I recently blind bought, The Seven Samuarai, Dr. Strangelove, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. Can't say they were very brave blind buys but I love all there
Oldboy and Kingdom of Heaven

I freely admit that I have no will power since I'm basically a DVD w***e, but on the brightside it's a healthier lifestyle choice than being an alcoholic or a pothead.

Unless someone breaks into your house and steals them, then I can see you going on some kind of Bronsonesque rampage across the mid-West.

I only buy Blind Buys of films which I know I would like.
cause I like Weird Films and visually amazing films so something like Dark City I blind bought.
Or Anchorman cause I really wanted to see.
Or something like Roadracers (Robert Rodriguez's Lost Film)

Hmm...I've always thought of myself going on a more Rambo-like rampage myself--sporting a red bandana while I trample on the skulls of my enemies, leaving nothing but shell casings from a smoking M-60 in my wake and screaming "Adrian!" for no apparent reason...at least until the insurance money kicked in and I redirected my carangefest towards Best Buy to replace everything that is.

Just an excuse for not having recent blind purchases. Am thinking about trying those online rental services... I only seem to watch a DVD once before chucking it on the shelf.

All of my blind buys were with tv shows on DVD. They were Seinfeld, X-Files, and 3rd Rock From the Sun. I haven't been disapointed yet.

Don't drag me into these fantasies!
I rarely buy things that I haven't seen. It just doesn't seem worthwhile. I'm getting like Mal. I don't think I watch many things more than once.

Recently finished watching Season 1 of "Veronica Mars" as a blind buy after hearing rave after rave. I was a bit skeptical because of the high school characters, but it was excellent. Vernonica, while sometimes a little too cutesy, is smart and engaging. The dialogue is intelligent, and the season-long mystery arc is engrossing.
The Best blind buys I have got were from eBay. The first is the Taiwan horror film Double Vision starring Tony Leung and David Morse. The second was Wasabi starring Jean Reno.

But have you "blind bought" any DVD´s recently?
