I honestly can't see how this will possibly make it a good movie.

I like the Lester Superman 2 just as much as the original Superman . The only annoyance is the lack of Brando in the fortress of Solitude and the manner by which Lois loses her memory.

I suppose the Donner version will solve these 2 minor complaints.

The original Superman II was filled with slapstick comedy that bugged me even as a child.  Those are usually the part I skip when watching it.  I'd love to see a better version of the flick show up.  I just hope it is not a hack job, and it basically be the original with very few scenes removed and added.  I'd feel better if Donner wa actually putting it back togehter himself.

Yes, I plan on buying it.

Pity J. Williams couldn't do a re-score as well. Although I don't no for certain if he hasn't. I hope they don't do what they did on the extended Gladiator and just re-use the same bits of score to accompany the new footage. But they probably have done this. We'll see. Does anyone know what the new score will consist of? Is it a mix and match thing using Williams score from 'the movie' or a complete redux?

Because it's not making it a good movie, it's not tweaking a few things here or there. It's an entirely unseen film, in Donners vision. His desired sequel after the fantastic first film. That's why it will be good because Superman 1 and 2 are essentially one film cut in two.

Well I hope this is a sucess!  Now that the Donner Edition of "Superman II" is on the way my next wish is that David Lynch has a special editions of "Lost Highway" "Mullholand Drive", and "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me"

But those are just SEs. And David Lynch wasn't fired during production of those and replaced by a slapstick-obsessed director. But agreed anyways, I'd like to see those in the near future.
