Batman Begins DE Recalled?
Warner Bros. is recalling the BATMAN BEGINS: 2-Disc Deluxe Edition DVD. There is a rights issue with the comic book and some **** like that so its offically coming off the shelves. Amazon.com already stopped selling it so if you want a really LIMITED edition run out now and pick it up. I am so glad I got mine cause who knows when WB will release it. All I know is that it IS going to hit shelves again as BATMAN BEGINS: 2-Disc Special Edition like the other 4 films but I dont know when.

lol....seriously? that's retarded. I hate it when garbage like that happens. On the other hand, I have myself a true collector's item.
There is no recall on it. The reason you'll not find anymore copies of the BB Deluxe Edition is because it's only a limited edition. DC Comics and Warner Bros. are part of the same company and they wouldn't fight over the rights of the comic book.
Wow! I mean really, WTF? A week and a half after it is released it is recalled or "limited" by. I do not understand, I saw it for the first time yesterday (October 28th). So if it is re-released, will it be the same thing just with two discs (sans comic) or will it be in one of those awful "Batman Anthology" cases (Silver border, crappy font)?
I heard of that too. I already got my copy of Batman Begins 2 Disc with the comic book, so I'm okay.

It's a recall. It makes no sense to pull store stock without any stock already in the warehouse to replace it.
They pulled the deluxe edition, off shelves, paid to ship them back, created a new run, paid to ship it to stores and it was all planned that way? No. It would have been done at the same time, with some delxe editions having the comic while others didn't. I bet one of the authors had a problem with DC, who in turn had to comply to a court order or something. It happens often.

See now this is going to make me run tomorrow and get this movie ASAP instead of waiting till X-mas.

Stores are not pulling out the Deluxe Edition. They are selling til they have no more.

How come they've released the 90s Batman films in DTS but not Begins?
Why hasn't Warner released the majority of their movies in DTS?

I agree with Nightmare. My guess is that a bigger version of Begins is coming later. Either on DVD or Blu-Ray. There was no commentary by Chris Nolan either and I thought that was a given. The special features were kind of thin on the second disc too.

Were you meant to use Nightmare's quote and not mine?
Yours was the source, that's why I used it.
Anybody actually have a source saying that it was called and that stores are pulling them off the shelves?
I was wondering why no one seemed to have any copies this weekend. I guess I'm glad I sprung to buy it on vacation, I was going to wait untill I got back home but couldn't wait.
When I went to my video store today, they told me that they took all of the S.E.'s down (my cuz works at it).
Amazon finally shipped my Batman Begins (I ordered it with Office Space SE to get the free shipping) and it says it shipped the one with the comic book. It's out for delivery, so I should get it around 5 pm. I'm real curious to see whether I get the comic book or not.
EDIT: I received Batman Begins today, shipped on Monday, and it was indeed the one with the comic book. I think this was just a limited issue, not a recall.
Anyone else think they should have made the slip cover bigger to actually accomdate the comic book. Mine really bulges when the comic books is in there.

Most Barnes and Noble stores seem to have not pulled their copies, if anyone's looking for a copy.
The Barnes and Noble in Granville, WV (Morgantown area) had copies as of yesterday. (I'd already gotten mine on Halloween night from the local Sam Goody.)
It is OOP in some sites
I already trashed mine. I wanted the movie, not the gay @ss comic book.

Nolan didn't do a commentary for Batman Begins because he felt he didn't need to do one this time and he hates doing commmentary tracks.

On dvdempire, it says that the 2 disc Deluxe Edition has been cancelled by WB and they now only carry the 2 Disc Special Edition, which is basically the same as the Deluxe Edition just without the comic book. Both editions have the same item code: 73216 on the spine of the dvd. Essentially, it looks more like a re-packaging to me.
I guess I am really lucky to not only have the gay-ass comic book but the Best Buy exclusive set with the lenticular cover.
I have a copy too. It isn't that bad.
So how is it exactly that a comic book can be gay? Did your's come out of the closet or something? Was it printed that way or become so because of its environment?
It must be a happy comic Matt...
