You really like starting threads, don't you. The 1st 7 threads are your's. Well, I'd say George Clooney is pretty overrated. He's good, but doesn't really stand out in my mind. For an actress, Sandra Bullock. She was good in Crash, but in everything else she's just loud and obnoxious.

Stanton do you ever start positive threads? Just curious, but you seem to be a fountain of negativity.

Ron Perlman is probably not a rated actor at all. Outside of fanboys, I doubt anyone knows who Ron Perlman is.

I know I'm going to be hated for this but I have to say it, Johnny Depp. He was great in Pirates of the carribean and the sequel looks ok but other than those two movies all of his other movies are either boring or just barely above average, and his acting wasn't anything special in those other movies either.

If no one knows him from these films from his main or supporting roles from the last five years, maybe they should do a little research.
Oh yeah, Brad Pitt too.

You really made my point for me Tony. Look at the movies you listed (except enemy at the gates) and those are all movies that were not big hits outside of their genres. The average movie goer would not be able to pick Ron Perlman out of a crowd. He is not well known and probably never will be.

Huh? Johnny Depp is one of the greatest actors of our times. He just avoided main stream movies. Pirates of the Carribean is a good movie, but hardly representative of what an actor Depp can be.

I imagine a few people know of Pearlman from Beauty and the Beast.

it's spelled Perlman NOT Pearlman

I was going to bring that up, but you know, I doubt many people knew that Perlman played Vincent and even if they did they wouldn't have known what he looked like out of costume. Will we ever get that show on DVD?

I never knew he had so many cartoon voice roles as not as many film roles. Kinda surprised me actually. Those three films I listed were only on the top of my head.

I wasn't really picking on you Tony. Unfortuantely, Perlman hasn't really appeared in many mainstream movies. But then again, I have been watching him since before you were born. I was really surprised that he never turned his success in Beauty and the Beast into more of a career. Hellboy, at least so far, seems to have raised his visibility somewhat.
Jake Gyllenhaal..way overrated. His acting skill is average.

Genius actorTigerclaw is pretty much on the ball; the only great role I seen him play was in Donnie Darko, the rest was just average work that he done.

He wouldn't have been cast for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean or even the first one if that wasn't the case, that probably means that some people really think that he is good I guess..

Being cast in Pirates of the Carribean has nothing to do with being or not being a good actor. It has to do with box office draw which is something completely different. Bloom can be counted on to draw the 13-15 year old girls to movies like this and that is why he is cast in the movies.

You're right about the first part, being cast for a movie that size doesn't necessary mean that he is good, but you made my point on your second one
alot of girls between 13-15 really thinks he's good

They think he is cute. They don't think he can act. At least, I think they can tell the difference.

ron perlman was also in a french film the city of lost children. after beauty and the beast this was the film that I recall most that he was in. also in the name of the rose, which I like.
i dont think that mr pitt and mr depp are over rated in that they are versatile and can play many rolls convincinly. mr. pitt in spy games and then contrast his roll in snatch. a yank pulling off a total incoherent gypsy.

I only liked one movie he was in! I have never been a fan.
