Clooney is really one of the better actor's out there.  Now, he is making better choices in what roles he played.  The whole Batman debacle was not Clooney's fault, other than for taking on the role.  Besides, that the only other really bad acting job by him was Return of the Killer Tomatoes.

Absolutely correct. Jack Sparrow is exactly the same character as Ed Wood, Willy Wonka, JM Barrie, Donnie Brasco, Edward Scissorhands, Hunter Thompson.....the list goes on and on. Depp is such a one trick pony.

I can not agree with the comparison of the overly flamboyant Captain Jack Sparrow is played the same as Edward Scissorhands, or Donnie Brasco.  He may play many goofy character pieces (like Wonka or Wood), but he does have a differant approach to them.  I understand this is just some opinions here, and I am not his biggest fan out there, but I think he can do more then one way to act.

Stephen, I was joking. I believe Johnny Depp is a fantastically unorthadox actor and as such, extremely watchable in just about every role he takes on. My previous post was in reaction to ESPO's post that Depp is like Jack Sparrow in all his movies. A statement that I believe as cock of the highest order.

George Clooney is a one character actor!

Batman = Doug Ross does superheroing
The Peacemaker = Doug Ross does Action Man
From Dusk Til Dawn = Doug Ross being bad (although I did actually like this film!)
Three Kings = Doug Ross does Action Man again
The Perfect Storm = Doug Ross does sailing

The guy perfected his form of acting in ER (ie: being smug or having a strop) and hasn't changed character since.

The point that I was trying to get across was that in all of his films, it's like ol' George's characters (whatever they may be called) are basically all Doug Ross. So in The Peacemaker it's ike he's still playing Doug Ross but after he's quit being an ER doc and has joined the army.

Same character, different job...
