I've been holding off of this to get this edition, but another year! I don't feel like waiting this long.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

So they're gonna re-release tge directors cut this year, then release it, along with all the other versions later in 2007? I'm not criticizing, just want clarification.

Yea, that's what I've been reading on several message boards. I think it will be the director's cut that's already out, just with a remastered picture, maybe audio too. I have the old release already, so I think I can wait another couple of months to get the Ultimate Collection.
I gotta say, I love Ridley Scott. His Alien, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven DC are all for the loyal, dedicated fans and it shows. Kevin Smith and Scott are the only ones who seem to utilize the dvd format to the fullest.

I have no quams at all about double diping for this title, to be honest ive never seen any version other than the directors cut.
I hope that Ridley can exersise some restraint in changing the cut, we dont want another George Lucas. However previous outings have seen only minor changes in the directors cut.

Don't forget Peter Jackson and the guys at Pixar.

I loved this movie! I got to see the "Directors Cut" in 1992. What is the best versionof this movie? I have only seen the 1992 edition-the one with no voice over. Is this the best version?

It really depends on who you ask. I also have only seen the 1992 "DC" and, well, I love it, arguably the best science fiction film of our time. But if you say it ruins "Blade Runner", then I can only imagine what the original would be like. We'll see in 2007...

Just great news. It made my day when I read it yesterday.
I'll believe it when I see it.
Im guessing I'm one of the few people who didn't like the movie after seeing it.

Hahahaha. Well I saw it when I was about 6 (My parents are kinda twisted, I know), so in that respect, I hated it when I first saw it. Kept sayin "So they're robots?" and "Can I watch Back to the Future now?".

Ohhh soooo tasty
Is Ridley taking over where Lucas left off? Endlessly altering their movies. Leave it alone.
Fantastic package!Nearly cried with joy when I saw it originally on ezy! Thanks Mark for listing this. I will come back read it and salivate for days! Goat Boy has a point tho! "Definitive Final Cut" I knew about this for a while because Ridley Scott told Empire and DVD Review what he was doing in an interview way back before xmas last year! Just adding the theatrical cut would have been enough! What fantastic special features tho!

Atleast he is making the original versions available too. Lucas should have done something like this with the Star Wars movies.

Lol, good one. I'm not a big fan of Blade Runner really. It has very little character development and not much plot. Also, the idea that machines could feel like humans do has been done much better in some other films. Still, the package looks awesome and if the set won't be too pricey I'll pick it up. I have only seen the 92 director's cut. I wonder, does the original version's monologue improve the film? Gonna find out.

"25 years on, "Blade Runner" will finally be seen as it should have been from the beginning. After years of legal issues and skirmishes, Warner Bros. has managed to sort out all the problems and is aiming for a September reissue of the remastered "Director's Cut" version, followed by a theatrical release of a version promised to be truly Ridley Scott's final cut reports Variety.
The sci-fi classic had a troubled history from the start: When Scott ran overbudget, completion bond guarantors took control of it and made substantial changes before its 1982 theatrical release, adding a voiceover and happy ending.
That version was replaced by the much better-received director's cut in 1992, but Scott has long been unhappy with it, complaining that he was rushed and unable to give it proper attention.
Scott started working on the final cut version in 2000, but that project was shelved by Warner soon after due to rights issues. The restored "Director's Cut" will debut on homevid in September, and remain on sale for four months only, after which time it will be placed on moratorium.
"Blade Runner: Final Cut" will arrive in 2007 for a limited 25th anniversary theatrical run, followed by a special edition DVD with the three previous versions offered as alternate viewing: Besides the original theatrical version and director's cut, the expanded international theatrical cut will be included. The set will also contain additional bonus materials"
