Blu-ray has actually been around for a while now. It's still in its infancy, but it's around the stage DVD was in '99 in terms of popularity (before the format really took off). Prices have already fallen significantly and I'm sure they will continue to do so, especially as the format matures.
With regard to TV shows, they could release them on BD, but there would be no real advantage to doing so because they were not originally filmed in HD. More episodes and extras per disc might be reasons to do it though.

Blu-Ray Pricing
I know that its only the beginning of Blu-Ray so naturally prices are a bit on the upper, but do you think they will eventually come down in price as the technology becomes older or are the prices at current going to pretty much remain the same?
Also this may be a stupid question... but is it possible/are they going to release TV shows in blu-ray.. I know they have already done so with lost but I mean older shows eg. Friends, Seinfeld etc?
