I'll be interested to see these 3 on BD although I have a niggling suspicion that because of the shaky cam and fast cutting of Paul Greengrass on 2&3, we won't have much time to take in the extra definition that the format has over the DVD's.
Of course it will look better on BD, I'm not disputing that, but so far, the extra resolution of BD (for me) has yielded better results with a slower paced cutting style where the eye has time to look at the picture and take in the extra detail. Perhaps Doug Liman's 'Identity' will 'look' better given that it's not as frantic as 2 or 3. I really like what Greengrass did with 2&3 story wise but I prefer Liman's overall style as far as photographing the thing, particularly with the hand to hand combat. They went to great lengths to show us the skill and 'newness' involved in the fighting in Identity but it might as well have been 2 guys sissy slapping each other in Supremacy and Ultimatum as the camera was too close.
I've not expressed anything new here with regard to the shaky cam and despite my reservations, look forward to seeing all three films again in HD.
