If it wins it's only because of the controversy. Capote deserves the win. Nobody would be paying any attention at all to the movie if it were a traditional relationship, even if it was well acted and well made. I hate the idea that controversy helps to win. I haven't seen Brokeback, nor do I want to, but EVERYONE I know who's seen it has said it was okay, too depressing, and too graphic.
It should win Best Picture
I liked it.
It has a very good shot at winning, I just find it funny that 2 years ago people wanted to hang Ang Lee from a pole for his work on Hulk (which I enjoyed) but now hes gods gift to film again
Brokeback Mountain
Considering the film is so controversial, I'd like to know: what does everyone think of this film?
I just saw it like 30 minutes ago and I absolutely loved it. I thought it was quite beautiful. In contrast, my mom thought it dragged on too long (although I condradicted that with how I thought that was to make it feel like 20 years instead of 2 and a half hours) and had the wrong ending (although she doesn't count on that because she hates sad endings.). I really hope BBM wins its Oscars. Heath Ledger was magnificent, and Jake Gyllenhaal was good too.
So, what do you all think?
