The last region 1 edition was pretty special if I remember correctly.
That was a good movie. Heard nothing about anything new.
Mal, it was special for 1998, but it's pretty lackluster by our new standards these days.
I read somewhere Alex Proyas was discussing that a special edition would be out later this year, also mooted that a sequal was under development. Can't remember the link though, sorry. Very good movie.

I guess I'm living in another decade where in 'em good old days you'd appreciate a DVD with an anamorphic transfer and multiple commentary tracks. These days you kids are planning to pay good money for some 70s/80s sci-fi trilogy in a non-anamophic transfer... I'll never figure it out.

LOL... I love it when you guys bicker amongst eachother. hehe... makes this whole thing feel like a family gather worth going to.
Anyways.... the last I remember hearing about it was that Roger Ebert (of of the greatest proponents of the film during its release, and since then) had recorded ANOTHER commentary track for the new SE. No further info from me tho.
