Digitalbits.com now has several pictures from BluRay and HDDVD conventions.  The discs look great from what I see, but the packaging is soo ugly.  Its a regular dvd case with these plastic red or blue things protruding out of them to distinguish the 2 formats.  They don't seem like they will fit on a specifically designated shelf.  I know its been said sooooooo many times, but I'm really starting to hate these damned new formats.

Actually, I don't mind HD-DVD's red (although I hate Blu-ray's blue even though I'm leaning towards them)...but yah, I can see why they're doing that, but it's annoying. And yah, I don't like the different size thing, that's messed up, but most stuff about this new format(s) is...there's no WAY I'm switching...at least for a while.

There's two formats due to two reasons, greed and power. Whoever's format wins will get decades worth of patent commission on every disc produced and will have full control of the format's evolution.

Basically, Sony's making everything difficult, just like they did in the days of VHS and Beta, and we ended up with the lesser fomat becoming the norm.

The easiest way is just to wait and see who wins....More than likely they will release a movie in both formats....how's that for controversy....
