I hope that War of the Worlds date is real. Sounds pretty good to me.
11 deleted scenes and outtakes? If that's the case, I can't wait for an unrated edition in November. That'll be more than awesome.
I seem to be right on Bewitched. And Land of the Dead is coming out the same day.

Later that day...

Okay. I stumbled over this article on VideoEta about Wedding Crashers:

More laughs coming with 'Wedding Crashers' DVD
Posted August 3, 2005 at 4:49 PM CST

By Tim Briscoe

Wedding Crashers proved it's one of the funniest films of the year by finally taking the top spot at the box office after two weeks in second place. And, according to a report in Home Media Retailing, there will be even more laughs coming on the movie's DVD.

The magazine talked with film's director David Dobkin about scenes cut from the two plus hour movie which he hopes will be included on the DVD. "The movie was on the verge of being too long [for a comedy], so it couldn't take another scene, no matter how funny," he said.

One scene in particular had Vince Vaughn's character pretending to be a deaf mute to avoid a woman he seduced at a different wedding he had crashed. Dobkin wants to include 11 deleted scenes on the DVD release.

No word if these deleted scenes would take the raunchy, R-rated film to the popular "Unrated Version" category. "Well, you'll just have to wait and see," he said.

One thing Dobkin will reluctantly include is a collection of bloopers. Dobkin doesn't want to step onto Jackie Chan's toes as he commonly includes a gag reel at the end of his films. "Having done a Jackie Chan film, I really feel like it's his territory... But we have really, really fun outtakes for the DVD." Dobkin directed Shanghai Knights (also with Owen Wilson).

Wedding Crashers is anticipated for a DVD release this November.
Well im hoping for Charlie in November as opposed to 2006
Thanks for the ideas Eliason, I'll keep that in mind
Not to seem negative or anyting but those sites only ESTIMATE dates and give rumours. Sometimes they're right but they can be really off.

I don't consider it news until it's officially announced here because IMO, DVDA's is the most reliable source for the latest DVD news on the net.

Sorry man, but I'll keep those dates in mind.

I'm starting a new feature called DVD News. I look on certain websites (like VideoEta) and get rumored DVD release dates.

NOTE: THESE ARE ALL REGION 1 RELEASE DATES

To start, Spielberg's War of the Worlds now has a scheduled release date. According to VideoEta, it's coming out on November 22, 2005.

Will Farrell and Nicole Kidman's film, Bewitched, is now scheduled for October 25, 2005.

The box office flop, The Island, is scheduled to come out on December 6, 2005.

Now, two movies that were released in theaters on the same day are scheduled to come out on dvd on the same day. They are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Wedding Crashers. The Wedding Crashers are scheduled to have the theatrical R version and an unrated version, which is to feature four extra minutes. TheDigitalBits is listing Wedding Crashers for February 2006, but from VideoEta, it lists both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Wedding Crashers on November 8, 2005.

The newly released Bad News Bears, starring Billy Bob Thorton and Greg Kinnear, now has a rumored release date, just in time for Christmas. It will be released on December 20, 2005.

The huge box office flop, The Honeymooners (it is always Cedric The Entertainer who has the flop), is scheduled to come out on October 18. Also, on October 18, is Batman Begins.

And last but not least is Madagascar, the animated film that starred Ben Stiller and Chris, is scheduled to be released on November 15 (tentative).

NEXT ISSUE: August 9, 2005
