DVD region encoding
Hi. Is anybody know if DVD players must be encoded to be legally sold in North America? Is there law enforcement for this? And if yes where can I find it?

Whenever I need to find law enforcement, I dial 911. And then I serve some hot chocolate to NY's Finest as we settle in to watch Dirty Harry DVDs. The police officers have never asked about region encoding so its not on their agenda

Does rgboy mean, do the players themselves have to be region 1 only to be legally sold/bought off the shelf?
