Yeah, I went back to 5 for that reason for along time until I was forced to upgrade. Really frustrating when you get the perfect frame, click the mouse, and then it skips forward instead.

VLC does screenshots
I use Roboscreen. Quality is great!
PowerDVD seems to be the standard method, you might need to play around with the settings to get it right since it doesn't always produce the desired aspect ratio.
Not sure about quality.. but I use CyberLink Power DVD.
