dvdaficionado problem
I just went to update my collection and I typed in my name and password.  It told me that there was no member by that name.  Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do to fix it?

I got it too. I was already logged in and I went to go look at my collection and it says that my name doesn't exist.

There must be a problem because it won't give me any search results at all.  I say we bombard them with angry e-mails and make them cry.Evil

Hey, I just logged onto the website and there is a message saying that the website was out of order on Wednesday, which is probably why you guys could'nt get into your dvd collection. It is working now. So don't stress..

Yeah, I would tend to agree with that...just maybe not in such a descriptive manner. Wink

Guys, we are a bunch of GEEKS. Who but us would even care about this kind of thing?Laugh
Also, I bet if there are any problems with DVDprofiler in the near future, I'm sure we can blame Matt for over loading the server.
Sorry Matt, but your massive collection is great fodder.

Nah...they have moved mine to a dedicated server to avoid such occurences. Wink

I was looking into building my own program that does half of what DVDProfiler does when I discovered it early last year thanks to this here site, saved me from creating a lot of database work and data entry. It also serves as my official insurance listing in case my house burns to the ground, so I update it at least once a week so as not to leave anything out or get behind.

Hey Matt, you must be spending a fortune on DVD's, I was like you once but now I have to cut down because it is eating away my money. Your colllection, however is impressive. I like the fact that I can see what the  others are collecting, and check if I miss anything I like in my collection.
I will probably take five years to reach your current number. My love of diffent types of movies are very limited. However, I can say that having used both afficionado and profiler, I'd say afficionado is better because it is faster for me to update my collection, and also compare prices if I want to buy specific titles from the states.

The whole insurance thing is one of the two main reasons I got an account, that and that I'm having trouble keeping track of who borrowed what. I still can't figure out who has Mr. Vampire. When I find it, there will be bloodshed.

Not really, I buy mostly used discs if possible and maybe 1-2 new releases a week...that and I have been buying DVDs since late 1997, shortly after they came out in the first place, so that's 7 1/2 years of buying.
