E.T. BluRay NEWS!
"After last nite's L.A. Times/Hero Complex screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark in Los Angeles, director Steven Spielberg confirmed that E.T. is coming to Blu-ray from Universal in 2012, but likely only the original theatrical cut. He asked the audience if they'd care if the "new" version wasn't on the Blu-ray, which generated a big "NO!" Spielberg acknowledged this and said he regrets making the changes he did for the DVD."

Sweet! I knew it'd be here for its 30th Anniversary!

At least Spielberg has somewhat realized that the "new" version isnt always the best, too bad his buddy George Lucas hasnt figured this out yet
I actually havnt seen the "new" version of ET, so it really doesnt bother me anyway.

I don't care if the film makers fix bad matting but when they tweak a film like George Lucas does thats wrong.  Again I don't care if he would fix a bad f/x shot butg when he adds new voice overs or HAN SHOOTS first thats a problem.
