Actually I just got this and there's one oddity that I can't quite explain. The Statue of Liberty kiss has been replaced by the scene in the planetarium (as it was in some territories), but it's not the full version of the scene as included in the deleted scenes. It's referred to as 'Planetarium with a Kiss' scene, but it's half as long and there's no kiss... Instead, it's quite a jarring cut to the scene with Ben and Victor in the cafe. I wonder if it was done to keep the commentary track in line? I also wonder if it's like that on any of the other DVDs to feature the scene (French and German R2 for example)?

Just noticed that there are several effects shots 'missing' as well. Apparently the Canadian DVD is the same...

Yes, indeed!

I was very impressed by the transfer on R3 release of The Last Samurai, which is another Warner title. Very cheap and it looks and sounds lovely.

All of the Warner R3s I have are superb, as are some of the Columbia/Sony discs. However, Sin City was released by Buena Vista in most territories, just not in HK, hence the rubbish Panorama transfer. A lot of people might not know that. I think BV released The Incredibles themselves and that looks amazing.
Great point! I understand what you are saying...

I did a R3 Thai - Sin City REVIEW...you can check it out here:

REVIEW: SIN CITY by BoBoi

You probably won't understand the language but I thought that this would be somehow useful.

The R3 Warner are all superb especially the HK's one. I saw 'The Color Purple' the other day and it's absolutely mesmerising (the package)

Also checkout the new 'Back to the Future' and 'Gladiator' HK released. Both are Awesome!

CD-Wow are also selling this Fantastic Four set for around £12 delivered. I'd have gone for that if I didn't have the single disc region two review disc. I want to see the extras, but not enough to spend £12 on.
That's why it's good to be versatile. With Sin City..I bought the R1 and will buy the new extended one coming out.

However, with studio like FOX, COLUMBIA, Paramount and especially Warner. You can expected a nice 'Imported' disc. If the disc says 'Imported from Studio' then it is very safe to say that the quality is very high.

With Sin City, it's not an imported disc since it's not big studio who produced it worldwide, so that's probably why

and hossein that is probably the right one. However, my friend got me this one thought: http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/pid-1...

the dvd package inside it's all the same...
The pack looks mighty awesome.

by the way , count me as a New Asian Friend !
Chris wrote: That is very nice, and makes a mockery of the c**p we normally get. Asian DVDs usually have very nice packaging, especially if they're limited or collectable. I would say that owning many R3 Imported and R1 myself. Watching it with a good home theatre system, I can hardly see the differences in the quality of the picture.

This is because FF was encoded by Fox and not the Local HK studio. Which meant Fox who encoded R1 did encorded R3 using pretty much the same system (as far as I think). The disc was produced in Taiwan. That is mainly were Fox produced R3 Imported DVD.

Imported DVD are as good as R1. Especially, Fox I see the standard around the world being very high, unlike Columbia.

and Colton, you can buy a copy from YesAsia.com but I've got a friend who works in HK, so I've got him to buy it for me.

Peace!!
BoBoi, where can I get a copy? It looks beautiful, even if the movie was abysmal.
