FF: Silver Surfer
What did we all think then? Me, probably on a par with the first, with the same strengths and weaknesses. They seriously depowered the Surfer (although I knew they'd have to do that) and the 'real' villain was a bit lame. Still enjoyed it though.

This moie is not out in Australia yet. Another one week to go. Aust. Distributors have crammed all the major films in one month - First week - Shrek 3, Second Week - Ocean's 13, Third Week - Fantastic 4: RSS, Fourth Week - Transformers. How about the U.K., Chris? Are movie releases crammed together too?
I am looking forward to F4: Silver Surfer. Looks good from the plot and trailer.

Saw it on Thursday and the whole theatre applauded when finished... I think it was better than the first definately but not good enough generally speaking..
Let's see what they'll do with an extended one

Think I agree - it definitely needed to be a bit longer. Not too much mind you, as at 92 minutes it didn't outstay its welcome (unlike Spidey 3), but there wasn't really enough exposition. Cinema I went to cut it off before the end credits finished as well, so I've no idea if there was anything after them.

The theatre I saw X-Men 3 in did that too; Myself and a few others complained and got free tickets for another show out of it..he he.

Just got back from seeing it. Yet again I left the cinema feeling a bit empty. It was good but nothing to shout about.
I'm just praying to Jebus they don't fcuk up Transformers, I know I shouldn't but I can't help but get goosebumps everytime I see the trailer for it. (Especially the one with the transforming sound on it!)

That's actually the only bit that got me excited (the sound effect). I don't have high hopes for it. Just saw City of Violence though, which was quite good.
Few reviews on aintitcool.com say the plot is paper thin (but so was the TV show if you think about it) but the effects are awesome and really make up for it.
I'm just fed up with all of these films that think they can sail through on effects alone. It's not like the old days when things were done using practical effects. Just imagine watching Star Wars or Superman: The Movie on opening day and marvelling at the effects, wondering what techniques they used to accomplish them. Now we know how they things are done - with sodding computers.
Stop Chris! You will make cry! Oh the good old days before cgi when the script mattered! I liked F4 2 it was ok! Pleased we did not see Galactus in his comic book form which I think is a little dated! Not got high hopes for Transformers! It is a Bay movie no less!
This was a heck of a lot better than the first one. The actors seem to fit their characters better this time out. The story was better and it was a lot more fun. The weakest part was Dr. Doom and Galactus.
The Surfer was really well done for the most part but Spoiler his backstory should have been filled in more, especially on how he stuck his bargain with Galactus. And Galactus would have worked a lot better as the cloud they made him to be, had he had some intelligence to him. He and the Surfer should have communicated more, he needed a voice. As he was, he lacked any real menace and SS defeated him too easily.Other than that, I really liked the mocvie

The film isn't actually called Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, it's called 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Why name it one thing and then market it as the other?
I hated it. Long live Spider-Man 3!

What the hell is a power cosmic edition?
I was just thinking the same thing.
"The Power Cosmic" is the actual name used for the power that Galactus possesses of which a portion of is bestwoed upon Norrin Radd, aka The Silver Surfer, when he becomes his herald. Geez people, read (a comic book) sometime will ya?!?!

Virgin :p
I thought everyone knew about power cosmic? A self-confessed geek should

Loks like U.S. will get the same treatment.
