Okay, I don´t know if this has been done before, but what barebones DVD release do you think deserve a new Special-Collector´s-Utra-Whatever Edition?
Off the top of my head:
-Blade Runner (I´m holding off buying it until the S.E.)
-The Thin Red Line (The one by Malick)
-The Passion Of The Christ (Doubtful)
-Face/Off
-The Game
-Crimson Tide
-Con Air

Very doubtful, but it deserves it the most out of the ones you listed.

Why is it doubtful.  It's one of the highest grossing of all time and was released barebones.

I would have to say -

1. Face/Off
2. True Lies
3. The Prince of Tides
4. Closer
5. Leaving Las Vegas
6. Moonstruck
7. Birth

But don't you think that Fox would of released it by now on DVD?

Fox is weird.  There's no telling what they'll do.  They'll double dip Elektra, but won't even release Mel Brooks's Silent Movie.  They'll release the Sound Of Music five times, but not even give a decent edition of Home Alone.  I think in time we'll get a SE of the Passion.

So do I. Great film too.

They might hold it off for an Anniversary disc though.

They could release it this Easter for the 1973th anniversary of Easter.

LOL
But, seriously, I am convinced that if I cave and buy the movie now, then next month they will announce a Collector´s Edition

Apocalypse Now - That deserves a super delux treatment.

Nightbreed - This has to be a real highly anticipated release as Clive is trying to get the director's cut out.

Exorcist III - This deserves a director's cut special edition.

Mission: Impossible II - I would love to see the original Woo cut, I hope we'll see some sort of release when M:I 3 comes out.

Total Recall: NC-17!!! NC-17!!!

Mad Max 2 - This film well deserves a special edition treatment.

Salute of the Jugger - I have the Dutch dv, but why hasn't this film been released in the US or UK and not been given a special edition???  Surely Anchor Bay should of picked this one up.

Blade Runner
While I am waiting for the SE of "Blade Runner", I caved and bought the DC for $10. Since it seems like years until they settle it all, I advise many to just buy it otherwise you're just depriving yourself of a good movie (regardless of any changes made from the original).

Or at least the UK theatrical edition, the DVD cuts out some violence and all those nasty bone cracking sounds, no reason it doesn't seem as painful as it did when on the big screen, stupid DVDs being cut.

Apocalypse Now - I want a good quality version of the Theatrical version, So I don't have to watch the crappy Redux to get better Video quality, and I would love a Francis Ford Coppola commentary.
The Graduate - non-anamporphic DVD had some extras, the new budget version, although it does have an anamorphic transfer has absolutely no extras, I'm glad I kept my non-anamorphic DVD,
I would love it if Dustin Hoffman and Mike Nichols did a commentary director.

Blade Runner - Nice transfer on the DVD already out, but needs a Dolby 5.1 track and a Harrison Ford/Ridley Scott commentary would be terrific.

Eh? The current Blade Runner disc has a shocking transfer.

At this point, I'd be happy to just see a widescreen DVD release of Moonstruck.  Several years ago, I emailed MGM to ask for a widescreen release and they said they had no plans to ever re-release Moonstruck.  So, I picked up the laser disc.

If a Graduate SE was forthcoming, it should have been announced by now to take advantage (or is that synergy?) of the upcoming release of Rumor Has It.

Fox Home Video did a flip-flop with the movie version of M*A*S*H. In January of 2002, they released that movie in their 2-Disc "Five Star Selection" edition format. BUT, in September of 2004, they re-issued it in a single disc format. The single disc was another repackaging and slight cosmetic revision of Disc One of that set, except there is no promotional for the Fox DVD line on the single disc.

Fox has re-issued most of it's 5-star collection as single disc versions.

They simply just include the first disc of those 2 disc editions and re-issue the movie to make a quick buck.

Running on Empty.  I can't believe this movie is only available as a bargain basement P&S disc.  It's a great movie.

It's bad, but considering it's the only one out there, you can't be picky.
As long as you can see the movie...

I forgot to mention these movies too:

Con Air
Enemy of the State
Bridges of Madison County

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, BEETLEJUICE!!!!  Why that hasn't been given a SE is anyone's guess. Even a lacklustre affair with a making of and commentary like most of Burton's flicks (i.e. Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands) would do me!
