Flight Plan
I'm highly anticipating Jodie Foster's new movie Flight Plan.  I really like her as an actor.  How about you?

Shes a great actor. It's just too bad she barely does a film a year now.

This film is a rip-off to The Forgotten though, you have to admit.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking and it's what is putting me off. Trouble with this sort of movie is that the pay-off is never quite as smart as the hook.

I'm also looking forward to this.

Flightplan is released in Australian Cinemas on 10th November, 2005.

Trailer looks very good. Jodie Foster is an excellent actor, who should try to make use her talents more.

I had thought the same thing Happy
But then, I've not seen a bad movie from her.  I'm still excited to see it...I bet it will fool all of us.
It'll be here Friday at theaters.

As long as it doesn't turn out to be aliens or a split personality thing - I should enjoy it!

I didn't like the ending for the Forgotten. I loved the movie but up to the last 15 minutes, I couldn't watch it anymore.

Not being stupid, can anyone tell me who this beautiful looking lady in Keith Gump's sig. is?

She's definitely hot!

At a guess I'd say Samantha de Grenet. it's amazing when right click and properties can reveal.

Give that man a cigar Tongue  Yes, it is Samantha DeGrenet.  She is an Italian actress.  Unfortunately, I never ran into her in my horseback riding years.  What a shame, eh?

I knew she wasn't one of those famous American actreses. I was going to say Cameron Diaz, so I guess I was way off!

Just saw the movie today.  It was a great thriller.  I won't say any more since I don't want to be a spoiler, except it is not in the tune of The Forgotten.  Go see it, it is a very good movie.

Well said, Tommy. I'll wait until DVD or if my friend can get me in for free so I don't want to spoil myself of the twist so far. Those are usually the first two options you automatically think so I hope it's original, Lol.

I thought it was just average.  I was hoping for more from Jodie Foster since she has been so picky about roles lately.

However, too much of the movie was just absurd.

Spoiler The whole set up was kind of botched.  There is no way that they could have relied on the fact she would be the first person to board the plane and no one would see her daughter.  In an enclosed place like an airplane (no matter how large the airplane) someone would have see her daughter, especially when they moved to the rows in the back!

You knew the minute that they showed Peter Sarsgaard that he was the bad guy.  You just had to wait for them to reveal that

Also, the statement that they needed a casket because they don't Xray caskets is pretty stupid.  I doubt that there is a special exemption for caskets just for cases like this.

I doubt very seriously that post 9/11 they would have let Jodie Foster carry on like this on a plane, regardless of any tragic situation.

Also, when the captain came back to tell her that her daughter was dead, my eyes almost rolled into the back of my head.  Surely, the captain had to wonder why she was only bringing home her dead husband and not her dead daughter.

It was fun seeing Boromir as a captain though.

Yes, it was somewhat unrealistic in some areas, though some of the things you mention could quite possibly happen.

All three of us were on the edge of our seats throughout most of the movie.  It does make you think and was exciting to watch.  Don't let this criticism keep you from going to see it, especially if you like Foster.  I think your a bit picky, there are no absolutes.

I always find it funny that when people make obvious criticism of an especially lazy and cliched script, they are called picky.

It's all an opinion.  The movie made me think, but in a bad way.  I kept thinking who paid these people to come up with this script and have these people actually ever flown on a commercial airliner.  I don't think they have.

This movie was an example of average moviemaking at its best. It had parts that were great, and it worked quite well in spots, but the end was just plain stupid. I don't see why legs have been so great for this one. It was enjoyable, but nothing special. I guess Jodie Foster is a huge factor now that she appears in one movie every three years.Wink

I think you are quite right on this point.  It was the reason that I really wanted to see the movie.  She just doesn't do many movies these days and the movies she does are generally very well done.  I am surprised she chose a movie with such a hokey script with a director that had only done two German lnaguage movies before this one.
