Oooo...oooo...I don't know...I'm torn there...the books are my favorites, but the movies are some of the best films ever committed to celluloid...it's a tough call for me, I can't decide.
Nah I think you're maybe right Gabe. Tolkien had a great imagination, for sure. However I think he spent far too many pages describing the scenery. They do become a chore to read at times IMO.
They are still great books but I think the movies solve the pacing problem that was evident in the books. Plus they are also pretty faithful to the source material.

Damn, I guess I have to work harder on my blasphemous statements. I don't think the books are bad, I think the story just needed some tweaking, like Star Wars, I like it alot, but can't help but wonder how much better it would be if someone else was in charge.
