Well I am working on a special edition of the movie.  I am looking for old interviews (print or TV) that I can add to the dvd.  This is a fan made presentation made for fans.  IF anyone can help please e-m me at stan39520@yahoo.com

Well the Halloween II SE came out on blu-ray.  Could of been a little better but well we finaly got something
I'll agree with the puppet comment and post no further.
The official website is a puppet for the people behind the series, nothing more.
Well no but maybe we can get the folks ouer at the offical web-page to do something..
If Rob Zombie mounting an entirely new franchise along with numerous DVD re-releases and a new 2-disc documentary isn't loud enough for Universal Studios to realize the demand for their product... then I don't know what would be.  Certainly not a thread on DVD Active.... Sad
Halloween 2 dvd Special Edition please lets make some noise and get it released
Mine will be bought and signed in Hollywood or Burbank or wherever they're doing the signing of it.  I'm excited about that one.  I've also bought a copy of it to watch along with the H4 and H5 Divimax releases.  I'll be sending my copy over to England to be signed by a friend of mine that helped out to make it.
(raises hand high)
who is buying the halloween 25 convention  dvd
I agree Dustin but there was talks in 2002 to film a few scenes to insert into a "special edition" they were rumors that it show Michael Killing the man on the side of the road. another was an insert shot of a "knife" falling out of Michaels coat when he bumps into the kid.  (as it was written in the 1978 screenplay.  One last scene was Michael Breaking into the Hardware store.
NO, not that kind of special edition.  I think we all mean DVD special edition, with a new transfer/audio track and gobs of extras.

I personally think that once a film is made, you leave it alone... short of a director's cut.  I'm hyped about Zombie's remake/prequel... think it'll rock.
What do you think of the upcoming prequel/remake of Halloween. I for one don't want them to remake it.  However I woudn't mind a special editon of "Halloween" like the "Star Wars" special editions.  YOu know go back and film 15 minutes of scenes something fun like that.
In America, two.  One put out by Goodtimes (now OOP) and one put out by Universal, which should cost you no more than $5.50 anywhere you go.  It's only home to a trailer and some production notes, a really c**p disc.  The transfers have a few minor differences in contrast, and are otherwise mostly alright.  A tad grainy, too...

R2 has a commentary from a few critics, and the trailer.  There really isn't a good edition of H2 to buy unless you pick up the two-disc German edition, which has the tv cut.
I have a question.  How many releases of Halloween 2 are there and which one would be the best one to buy?
lol  Don't mention Myers Museum.  Tony Masi runs the official site now and frowns on bootlegs!  hah
I have that set waiste of money.... I don't think iis  legal version.  In fact I got the same stuff from the Myers Museum
The German version of Amazon has it for about $35.
I've heard that too, but I've never seen it confirmed.
I just found out that Germany has a two-disc Halloween 2 set, including the tv cut.

Really unfair.
Well Universal could put together a special "Halloween II" nad "Halloween III" combo pack that includes both movies.  Load them up with all the extras that we can dream of and charge $45 for it.  It would sell.  There is alot of people selling boots of Halloween II on the internet for $25 so an offical release would sell for a premeium.
No doubt, money to be made.  I guess because Anchor Bay is a heck of a lot smaller than say, Universal, and doesn't have new and original titles to drop out on DVD each week.... Universal doesn't give it much mind.

I wish Anchor Bay could find a way to buy H2 and the Dimension flicks.  Would be sweet.  Anchor Bay has always been a good friend to the horror crowd.
There is money to be made.  Look Anchor Bay is having I think the 3rd issues of Halloween 4 and Halloween 5.  So there must be money in those sequels.
I know people and that's it.  I can't pressure Universal or Dimension to do something they think will lose money.  That's the reason for the barebones releases of both DVDs.  Perhaps with the news of the upcoming production of the next Halloween movie they'll reconsider, but I highly doubt it.
The fans of Supes didn't do jack to help get the Donner cut out.  Warner Brothers made that decision when they were thinking of ways to make money.

And I'm sure if Franchise had that connection, he'd already have used it.
Mr Franchise if you have a connection than you should help Halloween fans by pressing the studio to release a COLLECTORS edition of "HALLOWEEN II",  "HALLOWEEN H20" and get the producers cut of "Halloween 6".  Look the fans of Richard Donner got Warner Brothers to give us the Richard Donner version of "Superman 2".  So maybe the fans of "Halloween II" can get the Rick Rosenthal version of "Halloween II"
OGS was the first place I ever found that had the best of all Halloween worlds with it.  It was the coolest of the cool and I'm not exagerating at all.  With that said, the owner asked me if I wanted to take over message board duties for him and I agreed, but it fell through and I started the new board.  Myers Museum was great as well, but it went under before I got too much into Halloween.  Tony (the owner of MyersMuseum) is the webmaster of HM.com and Leon (TesOne) went on with his art career.  So, I won the position by default.  Within the past month, I upgraded the board and it couldn't have been better timing.
Yeah, halloweenmovies.com has sucked big time ever since it went to flash (I remember it back in 1998).  Suddenly, all of the features are gone, like two dozen features went missing.

One Good Scare and Myers Museum BOTH were better than the official site now.  They get news SO SLOWLY.
The owner of Myers Museum went to Halloween Movies.com and that site is nowhere as good as the Myers museum was
The US may never get a definitive Halloween box set, but the ones already dished out overseas aren't worth c**p.  You can bet I've already called dibs on all three summer Halloween releases on DVD Active.  Gonna break out my old H4 and H5 DVDs for some comparisons to see just how good this Divimax is.  Also wanna do an editorial on the many versions of the original on DVD over the years... but that'd take more time.

Franchise, said this on an older thread but doubt you saw it... loved the OHMB board.  Haven't surfed on in about a year or two, maybe I should re-generate a password and re-visit.  Weren't you at one time hooked up with One Good Scare, which the owner deserted for the official site?
If you live in the US, you'll probably never see a Halloween box set.  The rights to part 1, 4, and 5 are owned by Anchor Bay.  2 and 3 are owned by Universal.  6, H20, and Resurrection are owned by Dimension.

And the remake is a new beginning.  I'd rather see a new Halloween movie than not see another ever again.
Remake... Restart... why oh why???  I'd rather see another sequal, and continue the Michael Meyers we all already know.  I was not totally inpressed w/Zombie's horror fims enough to give him run with a major franchise.

I got my Freddy Box Set, I got my Jason box set, now where is my Michael, Norman, Leatherface Box sets?!?!?
I knew those were coming I want a special edition of Halloween 2 and Halloween H20
You're going to get 3 DVD releases in July with the Divimax releases of Halloween 4 and 5 and the 25th Anniversary DVD coming out from Anchor Bay.  The 2 Halloween movies will have commentaries with their respective directors.  Should be good.
Maybe with all the hype that surronds the remake of Halloween maybe we will get a deluxe treatment of "Halloween II" and "Halloween H20" Yes different studios but hey its a chance to make money.
Dustin wrote: It's not a remake, it's a restart.

And I'm hardcore fans of both slashers, but Michael Myers takes the cake.  He's more (not entirely) realistic than Jason which makes him scarier.

What is the difference between a remake and a restart?  Would it be like Batman and Batman Begins as an exemple??
Darren Russell wrote: So, the apparent news is that Rob Zombie is directing the next Halloween movie.  My question is....WHY?!!
I didn't enjoy either of his movies, so what makes them (Akaads)think he'll do such an excellent job on Halloween? Should've given the reigns to Marcus Nispel.  He did a good job on the remake of TCM.

When you want to make a statement that says you're committed to a series, you come out after 3 years and say Rob Zombie is going to redo the basic story.  That's great news to me as a fan.  Why choose him?  I think the question is why not.  He's proven to be a commodity in the horror industry and has a built-in fanbase.  As for the Akkads choosing him, it's a major deal for Malek and the Weinsteins.  Moustapha was killed last year in the Jordan bombings.  He and his daughter will be missed by the fans.

Is Rob Zombie doing a sequel or a remake?  and who's the better slasher; Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees??
Stanton, short of buying the rights to the film, you can't much do anything.

I personally am very happy over the Rob Zombie news.  Halloween rocks, and so did Devil's Rejects.  I hope he'll make a solid film.
Franchise wrote: Duh.  I'd buy it 7 times and watch it more than you could ever know.  On another note, the news for Halloween will be released today or tomorrow.  Watch HalloweenMovies.com for the information.  They'll probably only be announcing the director.

is there anything we can do to get a special edition?
I've got all the various TV cuts on DVD and all the other cuts for Halloween 6.  So many DVDs for Halloween, so little time.
I wish they'd include the TV CUT in a special edition, should one ever come to pass.
I'd buy it as well.  One of the few good sequels ever made.  I like how it picked up right after the slaughter at the house.
Hehe...didn't wanna stir up anymore controversy...I'll send you a PM if you want, but it's terribly out of date...and on my old computer now...c**p.
That's not bad Matt. Hey, there's no link to your collection anymore.
Dustin wrote: Third time I've done that this year, buying flicks I already own.
I've only done that once--the movie Mercury Rising...I'd owned it for a few years, but saw it used someplace and picked it up again...it was only when I got home and went to put it on the shelf that I noticed a copy was already in its place.
I'd buy it!!!

I actually ordered this online last night from Amazon, standard edition.  Went upstairs to get the original and saw that I already owned Halloween 2 on DVD.  Third time I've done that this year, buying flicks I already own.

Sad
You won't be.
well I hope were not the only 2
Duh.  I'd buy it 7 times and watch it more than you could ever know.  On another note, the news for Halloween will be released today or tomorrow.  Watch HalloweenMovies.com for the information.  They'll probably only be announcing the director.
Halloween II DVD Special Edition
If they ever did this would you buy it? I would. Am I the Only one?
