There are a number of programs you can use to extract the footage you want, check on, but as far as editing everything together I do not know of any cheap or freeware program that will let you do what you want. Personally I use Sony Vegas for any video and audio editing, but it is expensive and there is a learning curve involved in using it. Again, you really want to check out the link provided.

I did not say this, I was not here.

If you happen to be a Mac user, you could do what I do:

Use Handbreak to rip the full movie in an editable format, then just use iMovie (or Final Cut if you happen to have it) to edit what you need from it.

Id like to try making a SUPER....ahem....cut of Superman II, mix some of the original with Donner's Cut. Or trying to make Never Say Never Again more like an Official Bond movie, adding the gun barrel, Bond theme, something like that. Sorry not very helpful but I've got it out of my system. Thanks.

Haven't been in the Windows world in years so can't recommend anything in that respect, but if you ever decide to install Linux in the future then Ubuntu Studio might be a useful distro to install.

nothing free or easy is available to do anything anybody wants in this thread. If you want that expensive and difficult path (your only real choice) try Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere.
