How many DVD's do you have? and which is your treasured DVD?
Currently, I have just over 300 DVD's, all Region 1, because I like them better than Region 4. My most guarded dvd is the 'Speed Collection' 1&2.

I have over 400 all regions. My treasures are "24" S1,2, and 3, Will and Grace 1-3, and most of all FRIENDS 1-10.
I have about 100 DVD's (region 1). My treasures is definitely The Lord of the Rings (Special Widescreen Extended Edition) Trilogy.
i have about 325, my most treasured are Star Wars, Akira (tin), and the Godfather
I have approx. 50 movies (including seasons of shows). My most prized are the Star Wars Trilogy, The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Trilogy, and Ultimate Matirx collection, in that order.
I have about 400 DVD's. Hmmmm, I suppose I have a few that are my most treasured. The Walt Disney Treasures and other out of print stuff ranks up there. Then of course there are all the promo DVD's and not for sale stuff that the public cant generally buy that I have.
I have more than I really should and my most treasured ones are any that are out-of-print and/or fairly rare, such as a few of the Criterion discs that I have (John Woo's Hard Boiled for instance) and some of the discs released in the early years of the format that are nowhere to be found these days, unless, like Flash Gordon (1980) (which should be coming out in an S.E. later this year) they get a re-release in some fashion. My most treasured, until last summer when they were re-issued, were the Universal Monster DVDs that were released several years ago including all of the double feature discs.
Matt, how can you treasure any one of your 1442 children more than the others? Don't they all deserve your love and affection?

I have close to 200 DVDs and my most treasured ones are my Friday the 13th Boxset, E.T., Hard Boiled and Battle Royale.

Over 700
Walt Disney Treasures
Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection
Halloween Limited Edition (with lenticular cover)
Manhunter Limited Edition
King Kong Collection (Best Buy exclusive set includes collector's tin)
Batman Begins Deluxe Edition (Best Buy exclusive includes lenticular cover)
Everything else will eventually be re-released in superior versions. The ones listed would be hard acts to follow...even in HD

This thread became redundant after Mr. Joseph got his hands on it
I think Matt is the only one with a collection like mine. It's hard for me to tell exactly how many titles I have because I haven't fixed DVD Profile to track box sets correctly, but I would say that I have 1500+ titles.
Unlike Matt, I knew that the Universal Horrors were going to be re-released and I sold mine off at ridiculous prices!

Yet little did you know that the older discs actually have better transfers...
I've been extrememly lackadaisical about updating my DVDProfiler since last winter...I really should update it for insurance purposes if nothing else.

Is it really that noticeable? I still have the old box set as well! I just sold off the solo titles that I had in addition. It's hard to argue against getting $80 for Dracula or even more ridiculous $65 for the Mummy double features.
Edit: Why haven't they released Phantom of the Opera yet? I think it remains the only one from the box set that is unreleased.
I'm glad that I am not the only with a ridiculous collection. How many of yours remain still sealed?

On a few of the titles it isn't really noticeable as they are pretty much the same, but for some reason Universal used new transfers on the re-issues that had a somewhat lower bit-rate, that and there are a few glitches here and there with the sound; I bought the Dracula Legacy Collection to get House of Dracula and the Creature Legacy Collection to get the Creature sequels.
Phantom of the Opera was actually re-released earlier this year around the time that the 2004 movie was released on DVD.
I open everything as soon as I get it home...but if you were to ask me if I have actually watched everything I own all the way through, I'd have to answer that I have no idea...there are probably a couple of dozen that I bought on impulse and have just never gotten around to.

You know you have too many DVDs when you haven't watched ones you got last Christmas...

I have almost 900. My most treasured are Star Wars (the prequels, and the original trilogy box set) The Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, and all of the Star Trek sets (because they cost so much)

Your a sick sick man. Either that, or a millionaire. I think here it would cost something like $192 per season, plus tax. That's something like $6000 for all the shows.
They ought to be $40 per season

I happen to be a trekkie too, but don't need to own all the trek dvd's. I only like one franchise and that's it. Star Trek: Voyager. Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway) just happens to share the same birthday as me. Cool, huh? Otherwise I do enjoy the 90's Enterprise and Deep Space Nine.
