Is Watchmen UC DVD region 1 locked?
Title says it all lol. The Blu-ray prices are out of my league and with no sign of the UC been released in the UK I wouldn't mind the DVD's. I know Warners doesn't region lock it's Blu's but I heard that their DVD's are locked to region 1234 (on some US releases) so the US set will play on my region 2 player. Can anyone confirm this? I think I can remote hack my Toshiba but my living room Samsung seems a bit of hardwork.... If I get the US set it would be nice to play it on all my players.

I'm not 100% positive, but I'm almost sure that it is indeed Region 1 locked. Amazon page for it says so too, but they've been wrong before.

I've checked some of my region 2 titles with my PC's DVD player Power DVD, both Beowulf and Body of Lies are region 2 and 5. If any one has the Watchmen UC DVD could you please check the region of your disc? If you're not sure how and you have Power DVD play the movie in your PC and press Configuration then the Information tab, it should say there. Thanks.

You're confusing DVDs with BDs. Most DVDs are locked and Watchmen is no exception.

No I wasn't confusing the two lol, Someone mentioned on another forum that some Warner DVD's were region free (they were part of the Blade Runner CE) whether their player was multi-region as standard and they didn't know, I'm not sure. I just wanted someone to actually check but you're probably right they are region 1 locked. I've also read some Warners US DVD's are locked 1234 so it was worth asking.

Having just checked on a R2 only player, I can confirm that Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut (I only checked the movie disc) isn't R2 compatible.

I think all the Warner R1 movies I have are region locked (or at least aren't R2) but all of their DC Comics releases since Batman: TAS volume 2 are R1/R2/R3 and R4 encoded so you can play them on any player (regardless of what the packaging tells you).  This includes, Superman: TAS, Justice League, The Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern: FF, Crisis on Two Earths, Batman: UtRH, All-Star Superman, Batman: TBatB and everything inbetween.  The only DC cartoons that aren't R2 compatible are Batman: TAS volume 1, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman & Mr. Freeze: Subzero and Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman (R1/R3/R4)

Their movies though, ie: Jonah Hex, The Losers and I suspect the forthcoming Green Lantern are R1 only.
