JJ Abrahms to direct Star Trek XI
I've just read that there will be another Star Trek movie coming, due in 2008, and it is reportedly going to be directed by JJ Abrahms (Alias, Lost, MI3). I hope he doesn't make it like some action machine.

Here's the link to the news from Star

This is old news, and maybe even worse then the days of Rick Berman and Brannon Braga. Sad

It can not be worse than the stuff they have been making.
I personally think it needs to go into another creative team than Berman and Braga, they seem not to know what to do with it all anymore.

I am in favour of a new Trek movie and with JJ on board, it has less chance of failing. I wish they'd do a mirror universe movie with Kirk, Picard AND Archer. I hope that if they do go through with the Starfleet Academy days of Kirk and Spock that they don't get someone like this Chad Michael Murray to play Kirk to bring in the kids. I hope...

I don't know why Paramount don't do what they usually do in this situation which is to give Nicholas Meyer a call. He is the franchise resurrection king.
