yuppers, sign me up for both versions, I love PJ's work from beginning to kong
I'll buy the Extended edition, no question. I don't see many Giant monkeys in other films so this is worth the buy.

Any confirmation on a Nov. 2006 Extended Cut Release?
I'll add it to my netflix queue when its on DVD.
If I like it, I'll buy the directors cut.

Seems a little odd as Kong already felt like it was an "extended" cut. I can't imagine that there was a lot trimmed out of it.
I'll buy both

So you didn't see the movie, and don't even like the director, but you're going to buy the movie anyway?
Yep...with my brother credit card.....

I dont see this having an extended edition and if it does it wont be as special as the LOTR EE's were. There just isnt anything else that you could do with this already perfect film.
Listen If I were going to buy "King Kong" it would be this longer edition. In the mean time if I get the itch to see it again I will waite til I can get a USED copy on E-bay. Millions of these will be sold and usally within 6 weeks you can get a used copy under $10.
I'm also going to be waiting for the extended edition as well.
There's no question that Kong will get another release later, it's just a matter of when and what will be included. I'll go ahead and pay my $19.99 for the movie when it comes out in March and enjoy it for eight months until the deluxe version comes along. I'm really looking forward to a commentary track with Jackson and company for this movie down the road, and if the work he and his crew put into the special features for the 1933 version's DVD release are any indication the entire set should be a real treat.
I'll be awaiting the Extended Edition, as I did with the LOTR movies. I'll rent KK in the meantime. LOL

King Kong Extended Cut in November?
Peter Jackson and Universal may be planning a King Kong: Extended Edition as well. Arnaud Calistri, the editor of the French DVD news site DVDRama, say that Universal France has just confirmed that a deluxe King Kong "box set edition" is being prepared for DVD release in November of this year, and that it will feature a new edit of the film itself. It definitely seems like a possibility given Jackson's track record with his Lord of the Rings extended DVDs. It still early days but thought you guys might like to know.
