I agree with you most of the time Nightmare, but I think you can tell how much Peter jackson loved King Kong as a subject matter.

According to boxofficemojo, the film has made roughly $158.6 million in the U.S. as of Dec. 31. Last count on the international box office shows roughly $355 million. I wouldn't necessarily call it a bomb.

You could see Peter Jackson's love for the original Kong. Most of the time movies are made for the dollar and not the quality.

True, Adrian and Bob, Mr Jackson gets quite pasionate when he makes his movies, as do a few other directors.
My comment is mainly directed at the studios who hold the mighty dollar as their number one priority.

If only all movies were made with Jackson-like enthusiasm!
