Legal Restrictions on DVD Covers
I've got to write an essay on multimodal texts and I've chosen to analyse a DVD cover. I'd like to know what legally needs to be included, what is optional and what cannot be included on DVD covers distributed within the UK. Google has let me down so I hope that someone can point me in the right direction on this.

As regards the UK releases you have to have a BBFC certificate on the front and supposedly (I think) on the spine, but some releases (most notably tin boxes such as "Zatoichi" ) do not have this. Have you tried the BBFC website (www.bbfc.co.uk)? Or a local video store such as HMV or Virgin, as the people there may well have an idea?
This is a great help. I've checked the bbfc site and there's lots of information. I don't want to quote the entire letter of the law (I've only got 2000 words to play with) but a few "for instances" should show the required application. Thank you very much.
