Lord of the Rings Special Limited Editions When are they coming out on Region 2?

play.com and amazon say 16th May 2007
HMV says 1st March 2007
woolworths and Asda say 1st Janurary 2020 (yes you read right, 2020)

any idea?

I thought these were out already. I read a review of one of the discs somewhere saying that the theatrical cuts were better on the new discs (despite them cramming the extended version on the as well) than the 1st release and that was a month or so ago. I'm not really interested in buying these again so they disappeared off my radar. I assumed they were out or at least due for release before Xmas. Middle of next year seems like a pointless waste to me. The next time I but these films will be on a HD format. Not double dipping on DVD anymore and haven't for the last year or so. If I haven't gotten around to buying a back catalogue film on DVD by now, it can wait until the next format. Too much plastic in the world.
