i love this movie and it needs a re release so bad i it's been years since i've seen it though.joe dante is dope
This is an unfairly overlooked Joe (Gremlins) Dante GEM of a Movie. It has a warm, funny, nostalgic feel and a great central performance from John Goodman. The "MANT!" (unfortunate man turns into a giant ant!) movie within a movie is hilarious in itself, and this deserved to be a far bigger hit on release than it was. I picked it up cheap on R2, and my boys loved it. 
Matinee
When oh when will this be coming to DVD? Actually, I should say when will it be coming BACK to DVD? The version released by Universal in those early DVD days is long out of print and hard to track down.
It's such a great movie...totally worthy of another release. Heck, I love Harry and the Hendersons but if that gets a release (and a SE release even!) Matinee should surely get one too!
