This is an unfairly overlooked Joe (Gremlins) Dante GEM of a Movie. It has a warm, funny, nostalgic feel and a great central performance from John Goodman. The "MANT!" (unfortunate man turns into a giant ant!) movie within a movie is hilarious in itself, and this deserved to be a far bigger hit on release than it was. I picked it up cheap on R2, and my boys loved it.

It's such a great movie...totally worthy of another release. Heck, I love Harry and the Hendersons but if that gets a release (and a SE release even!) Matinee should surely get one too!
