Curious as to how high is the sky
For me it's the Complete Get Smart TV  Collection sold thru Time-Life Video. Lists for $199 , it's a 25 disc collection with tons of extras. Not available in stores yet. Fantastic collection.

Dunno about currently, but the most I ever paid for a boxed set was the original release of the Oliver Stone box with 11 movies and a bonus.

It was like $325 after tax at the time. But since DVD is hardly a new medium anymore I refuse to go much over $100 bucks for anything now.

Spider-Man Wooden Box (R2 France) Got it for US$286 that's plus shpping fee and tax...

Both FRIENDS Box which the first one plus tax was US$302 (through some retailer for R1 in Thailand). The second box however I ordered directly from Amazon.com didn't get tax and only paid $184 for it...

I forgot about the Twilght Zone -The Complete Collection I purchased 2 years ago. It retails for $299
But leave it to Criterion for probably setting the record: Last year they released the Essential Art House Collection- 50 Years of Janus Films. It contained 50 films on 50 discs as well as a 200 page hard-cover cofee table book.
List price is "shudder" $850.

Isnt there a Godzilla boxset featuring all 20+ movies or something? I think it costed at least more than $1000 and was available only at Japan.

I remember about a year ago, Amazon had "The Complete Star Trek". Every series and every movie. It was $3500 on sale if I remember correctly.

I think I found the "Big Daddy". Amazon. Com has for sale the Warner Mega Classics Collection. It consists of 198 movie titles across every genre. The drawback is that while you get the classics like Gone With the Wind (4 DVD deluxe edition), Casablanca, Blazing Saddles and The Wizard of Oz, you also get films like Poison Ivy 1,2 and 3 and the 1981 version of Tarzan called Greystoke.
For the Warners Bros. collector, this can be yours for $4,243.
But if you act fast it is discounted to $1,899 with free shipping

With free shipping, I'd be stupid NOT to buy it!

Crazy money. Who apart from Chedder would buy that?
