Special how? Every one of the movies you've listed has already or is about to receive a pretty decent package.
It's been released in region two, but Universal's Flash Gordon needs a region one, special edition release. I thought for sure with this being the movie's 25th anniversary this year that we'd see it. I just want a cleaned up, anamorphic copy so that I can replace my seven year-old Image disc.

Wasn't there a thread for something like this before?
Yeah! Do you guys ever back track the thread topics or are there just some lazy people out there???
i def. think there should be Delux SE of:
Das Bot (the best WW movie all times)
Das Bot (the best WW movie all times)
2001: A Space Odyssey,
obviously.
Although their is a collector's edition that contains a special 70 mm film cell, and a mild amount of extras.
Blade Runner as well,
it needs a new transfer(the one that's out right now is just ok, and a 5.1 mix.

There's a single disc special edition out with some fairly lame extras and a basic audio/video presentation. It came out just before the studios started issuing mainly 2-disc special editions.

Apocolypse Now!
Hitch!
I agree, the Kubrick films need to be put into a better edition, instead of releasing odd movies on anniversaries and such.
I'm ok with my standard, non-extended edition of Apocalypse Now, HOWEVER, I do want the making of documentary on DVD. If they released that I'd buy it.
Yeah, I want Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse released on DVD too...my old VHS tape is getting pretty ragged around the edges. It's still my favorite documentary on the making of a film yet.

Just saw in my Total Film magazine that the UK got a special edition of Flash Gordon. They also had a best horror films piece that used the same screen cap I did for Cannibal Holocaust. B*****ds.

Yeah, I'm going to order Flash Gordon from R2 after Xmas since it looks like it's getting no love from Universal here. Besides a decent transfer, I want that Brian Blessed commentary..."GORDON'S ALIVE!? DIIIIIVE!" Hmmm...thinking about it kind of gives me the itch to watch it over the weekend as it's been a while...
As far as TF stealing your cap, I say we pay them a visit before heading off to sack those dirty, no good elves.

The original Star Wars films should each get the two-disc treatement. There should be a special edition of all the Halloween films, except three, but I would probably buy that one as well. Willow definitely needs a two disc treatment.
Quickly, don't let Matt see that Halloween Three comment!!
Seriously though, I'm sure we'll get uber-special editions of the Star Wars movies from now until the end of time. I'm not a fan of Willow or Halloween 4-whatever, and yes, I have seen them all, so I guess your on your own there. I'm pretty sure Anchor Bay UK owns all of them, so the UK might end up releasing so special editions down the road.
Meanwhile, Anchor Bay, where the f**k is my Cemetery Man DVD? Huh? Huh?

Did somebody say something blasphemous about Halloween III: Season of the Witch...one of the most creative and oddly spooky, offbeat horror films of the early '80s starring none other than Tom 'Will Work For Beer' Atkins?!?!
Yeah, I could go for a SE of that one, and anyone who says bad things about it will get the jingle that turns their head into a pile of snakes and bugs mysteriously sent to them! Oops...too late!
