Looks good, I might have to check it out when I get back next year...

Thanks for the news.

You can still do it but it is a little bit more 'racy' Wink
Got my tickets today. Going to see "W.", "Valkyrie", "The Day The Earth Stood Still", "He's Just Not That Into You", "Yes Man" and also giving a Christmas Present to my brother and future sister-in-law to see "Bride Wars" on Valentine's Day.

New York City during the summer has a weekly classic film festival outdoors in Bryant Park (midtown manhattan ). It's free and has been running for about a decade
Here are some very good photos I found on the web on my fave Movie Festival....

I wish we had something like that here. One of the last drive in movie theatres around closed in my town closed recently, I am still sad about that. There is an underground group that screens movies on buildings and stuff around town, but I have never been. I'll make it to one of those shows someday.

The coolest, once in a lifetime outdoor screening that I have been to was at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It was their 100th anniversary and they played The Lost Boys on the beach beside the Boardwalk, where it was filmed. One of the most surreal special experiences I have ever had watching a movie.  I'll never forget it. I bought a special edition Lost Boys poster too. Some members of the cast were there too. They were as stoked as us fans.

I know San Francisco has a Film Noir Association that plays special screenings of cleaned up old Noir films. Been dieing to go to one of those too.

Sounds like so much fun, watching movies outside. I've seen a couple of surf movies outside too, but nothing like at a giant harbor. I'll visit Oz some day. Sydney looks like a beautiful city, especially on the water. I want to go partying and surfing there so bad: Surfers Paradise... Indeed.

I'd love to see photos.

I'm very excited about January and February of every year, because one particular very exciting cinema event happens - The St. George Open Air Cinema (St. George is the name relating to an Australian Bank).

Program Details for those who live in Sydney, Australia (Worst Nightmare, BoBoi, Mark Lim, etc)

plus info on tickets, food, etc...

I wonder if any of you Movie fans overseas have something like this in your city? I know there was one in London recently during the summer, but it is not as big as the one I'm going to.

I'll be going to the Australian PREMIERES of "Valkyrie", "W.", "He's Just Not That Into You" as well as "The Day The Earth Stood Still" - Disaster Movie showing right on Sydney Harbour, awesome!! This is the most popular Movie Festival in Sydney - last year, tickets to most of not all the movies showing last January/ Feb.'s event sold out in under 2 hours on the day of sale.

I'll get some photos of the event and post them here.

Worst Nightmare and BoBoi, if you plan on going, I recommend lining up at a Ticketmaster Box Office (Best thing I did last year!) for tickets, so you don''t miss out. Buying online is also good, providing that you are able to log in.

Tickets go on sale this Thursday 18th December at 9am, Sydney time. This event is also showing in Adelaide and Melbourne, from what I hear from friends interstate.
