Well to be frank, Inside Man received a very positive reviews from the critics, nothing to be surprise there.
However, if you're talking about word by word then there's quite a lot cuz my friends don't seem to like anything. Okay I was pleasantly surprised in 2046 cuz all my friends felt asleep at the movie, but I knew anyway that it would be great. That doesn't count does it? Well I dunno...
Probably, Raising Helen, not many ppl like it at all, they always say that it's too long and bla bla bla but I totally love it.I adore Kate and this movie so much!!

I pretty much stayed away from reviews for Inside Man because I was looking forward to it and wanted to watch it without any preconceptions about it. Having a friend fall asleep during it kind of put me of seeing the film and it lowered my expectation somehwhat. I did read reviews after seeing the film and they were mostly all positive. Turns out, in this case, my friend was probably just tired.
The lesson I suppose is never read reviews and never ever listen to your friends when it comes to movies.

I was surprised by Inside Man also. I wasn't expecting it to be bad, just wasn't expecting it to be good.
I was surprised by Inside Man too - was expecting it to be good, but it bored me to tears
Could see most the twists coming a mile away!
I have many - 16 Blocks, Poisedon, The Sentinel, Inside Man, Constant Gardener, Firewall, Stealth, Sky High, Failure To Launch, Last Holiday, Monster-In Law, Yours, Mine & Ours(2006), Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow.
I liked Inside Man as well. A pleasant surprise for me was The Cat's Meow. I'd heard it was OK so I picked it up and really liked it. Great cast and great story.

'I Heart Huckabees' is on HBO very often. I've heard people bash the hell out of this movie but I loved it. Others off the top of my head that I wasn't expecting to enjoy..Hedwig & The Angry Inch, American Splendor, the Big Lebowski.

I agree, both The Sentinel and Sky Captain were great entertainment!

The ending is one of most misunderstood in cinematic history...
the aliens create his mother so he can die, it's a very sad ending

We've discussed the ending of "AI" SOOOO many times before, I find it hard to believe that you haven't heard it here already or have not seen the movie by now...
Although, yeah, spoiler tags should be used there...

I'm sorry then.
Well if it's any better, on the whole, the ending is minor. It's the journey that counts. (I'm tired, I can't think of anything non cliché to say).
But yes, DO rent it ASAP. Don't let this minor bump discourage you. Do you think I didn't know the Planet of the Apes Spoiler was Earth before I saw it? Ok, not the same thing, but still relevant as they are both great Sci Fi movies.

WTF? Aliens?
I need to research some back-threads it seems?

Spoiler They're not aliens, they're advanced Meccas. Here's how it goes: God creates Humans. Humans search for God. Humans create Meccas. Meccas search for Humans. They're not aliens, and it shows how misunderstood the ending really is
I agree with ya CJ.Cheese. I always have from the first veiwing. I was asking how people still get it wrong. I have this same discussion with a friend for years at work.
Ok, sorry, they just looks a lot like aliens but now I totally get everything in the flick, A.I is a real underrated gem of modern times
I freaking love Sky Captain, I Heart Huckabees, The Life Aquatic and The Way of the Gun, all of which either got mixed reviews or did poor box-office.
Hudson Hawk (Mindless pap I know but I still enjoyed it)
The Butterfly Effect (Has to be with the baby ending and NOT the 'Happy' ending tho!)

The critics really didn't like the Da Vinci Code, but I loved it.

Me too. I wasn't expecting an exact adaptation as so many are way off, but this stayed pretty faithful. While not perfect, it was very good.

Most recently, I was very surprised of Film Geek. Definately check it out!
Well I have to say "Twin Peaks: FWWM" "Cape Fear-Remake"
Scorsese's Cape Fear is probably better than the original. Although it's been awhile since I've seen the original to compare.
It is. I have both in a boxed set and it's much more enjoyable (if that's the right word).

Recently I saw Inside Man after a friend had fallen asleep out of boredom during it. This did not inspire confidence in it but as it played out I thought it was a great movie. I wouldn't put it in my all time favourites list but I was 'pleasantly surprised'.
In fact you have to incorporate the words pleasantly surprised in inverted comma's in any posts. Thems-the-roolz.
