the artwork was designed in US. the note is actually plot introduction. R3 and R6 (sometimes R4) are sharing same artwork for most Warner titles and the text should be localized.
you can do a search on "CAV Warner" at yahoo.com to find out more information. CAV Warner also distributes Uiversal Pictures titles in China while UPI distributes Warner titles R5 DVD in Russia.

Don't know why but I laughed very loudly when I saw the chinese characters on "The lake house" DVD art.. you think Sandra wrote that note in chinese? lol
The Lake House will be release on 24th August, another World's Premiere Release. Only Silver edition will be released. No Gold No low price.
