Prince of Tides Criterion on DVD?
Does anyone know if this superior release on laserdisc will ever get a DVD release? The current edition just pales in comparison. BTW, any Barbra fans out there? I heard that her fabulous One Voice concert is coming out on DVD soon! I also can't wait for Yentl to be released on DVD, hopefully with plenty of supplementary materials.

I don't know when "One Voice" will be released. I had to re-buy that and "The Concert" on Laserdisc after hurricane Katrina.(Along with anther LD PLAYER)  Yes "The Concert" is on DVD but it was taped at the MGM.  I loved the one that was on HBO (and laserdisc).  I think there was a "money issue" about the Laserdisc disc comentary on "Prince of Tides".  Criterion also had problems when they first brought out "Prince of Tides".  Barbra didn't like something-and suddenly it wasn't to be released. About 2 years later it was relesed. "A Star is Born" was to come out in December or January but for some reason that was pulled!  According to "Barbra" when she was on "Oprah after the Show" [romoating "The Movie Alblum" she said "Yentl" was ready for release.  She even said she put together a "Directors Cut". You can see this clip on Oprahs web site.  I think Barbra Streisand "The Concert Series" (Including all 3 of her concerts)might get some sort of box set but who knows when.  There is a reported lots of behind the scenes stuff that was shot on all of these concerts.
