Took 'em long enough. Be nice if a few standalone players could get the upgrade, especially mine I don't want to have to buy a new amp with HDMI when I can get all the other formats via analogue, which is why I decided against a PS3 in the first place.

Excellent News, PS3 turned out to be a bloody awesome investment. Although I won't be taken that advantage of DTS-HD MA soon, since I'll too busy GTA IVing and Metal Gear Solid 4ing!!
Nah, just kidding, will of course be playing those games, but will also be listening to the glory of I, Robot on DTS-HD MA soon!

I won't be getting a ps3 but a discount shop in town is apparently offering Samsung Blu Ray players for as low as $300, so I might check up on that instead.

Went and checked out that discount shop. I ended up getting a new samsung blu ray player for $299. It's completely firmware updatable so I'm very happy with it. I still say that HD DVD's looked a tad sharper though.
They even tried to sell me $50 HDMI cables, but I got 2 of better quality for $3.50 each off of monoprice.com - lol

The only problem I am having with BD players on the market at the moment is that just about all of them have only a 5.1 analog output at the moment rather than 7.1 analog out that they should have. Alot of people out there have 7.1 amps without HDMI - doesn't help the people that want to upgrade to BD and then they have to upgrade amps as well to enjoy the full high def experience (of picture AND sound)...
