I enjoyed the movie.  It's like Hard Boiled to me.  Others that I really enjoyed are Oldboy and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.  Everything else I pick up that's Asian is horror.

I've had Infernal Affairs for over a year and I've still not found the time to watch it. As for other Asian films, well it depends on what you like. Off of the top of my head, these are memorable:

  • Taegukgi
  • Hero
  • Park Chan-wook's 'Vengeance' trilogy (Mr. V, Oldboy, Lady V)
  • Champion
  • Kung Fu Hustle
  • Battle Royale
  • SPL
  • Bullet in the Head
  • Ichi the Killer (for the experience)
  • JSA

I've recommended Ichi to numerous people and they're almost all now turned off to Asian movies.  No clue why.  I thought it was great.  Another Miike good one is Audition.

Hmm?  Horror isn't up your alley and I'm very fond of Asian horror.  I'd rather watch Battle Royale with it's new premise than most anything else.

It started a horrible trend over in the Far East where everyone had a ghost that started with a telephone call.  lol  Creepy horror helps me more  than over the top horror.  Gives me something to think about and not just see the overt gore and what not.
