review now up for RED EYE
I don't know if any of you saw this, but over at Bloody-Disgusting, they interviewed Wes Craven about "Red Eye" and he says the film is only 75 MINUTES long! He also says that he only cut out about 45 seconds of footage that didn't matter! Holy crap! He also says the DVD is done. There will be no special features besides commentaries, which they've already recorded, so we SHOULD hear news on this DVD soon.

But, yeah, I've seen some good reviews coming in and I can't wait to go see this!

That sucks so bad. 75 minutes? I'm not paying 6 bucks for a 75 minute movie.

But, IMDB reads 85 minutes long.

Well, I wait for it on DVD

That would be because they had to make extremely long credits for the film to qualify or whatever...I guess to make it seem longer. And I honestly don't care. They've got my 6 bucks! I'm DYING to see this. Same with my mom. I think it'll do quite well at the box office (I hope so, after the disaster that was "Cursed" although I LOVED that film).

I wanna see it bad too. I liked Cursed but I don't think it should of been unrated.

Does that mean you think they shoulda released the unrated version in theatres, or that you liked the PG-13 version better? Sorry, but I don't understand!

And I also forgot to mention - I saw somewhere that they're calling this the film "Panic Room" wanted to be...geez. It must be REALLY tense!

I'm saying they should of released the unrated version in theaters. Think about it. Why have Cursed being edited to PG-13, but Scream being R? It doesn't make any sense. The only thing they should mild down on Scream is the beginning scene. Cursed was good though

The original Scream was the best. Sometime, I'll get it. But in the meantime, I have to get The Ring Two, A Lot Like Love, and Beauty Shop this Thursday (it comes out early to buy at my videostore)

It all comes down to the change in marketing of horror films that has taken place over the past 10 years to get more of the under 17 crowd into theatres, but even the so-called unrated cut of Cursed couldn't help it from being anything other than a lousy movie whereas the first Scream is Craven's best work next to A Nightmare On Elm Street.

I already have Beauty Shop. I get it even earlier! I also got Sin City today Monday. These are the same discs you guys have. What bothers me is that Australia just released "The Interpreter" on DVD but I don't want Region 4, I want Region 1 and I have to wait another two months. All my dvd's are Region 1 and I want it to stay that way. Region 4 discs are crappy!!

RED EYE came in 2nd with $16.5 million. Thank God. I want this film to do good after whar happened to Wes during "CURSED." Pretty good for a thriller! They usually don't do that well (except for a few exceptions - THE RING (and 2), SKELETON KEY, etc.) and NEVER get critc raves. I'll definantley be paying money for this.

It's because of your political climate at the moment, which is the reason why films are PG-13.

Nearly all the Hollywood studios are baying to the conservative and christian groups and are taming their flicks down.

I wouldn't be suprised when Die Hard 4 or the new Rambo are released they'll be PG-13, and it'll be like watching an episode of the A-Team.

No, that has nothing to do with it at all. It comes down to the simple fact that a PG-13 rated film has a potentially wider audience than an R rated film. Editing a potentially R rated film down to recieve a PG-13 rating also allows the 17 and under crowd and their highly disposable cash to get into such movies.

well - this film wasn't meant to b R. it was meant to be a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and its hard to make that kind of a thriller rated R.
