I use one of them too.
The repair kit is great! it comes with a special cloth, and a packet of some kind of white stuff to wipe over the scratches. It is made in the U.S. I forget which brand it was, one of those that make music cd's as well.

Walk into your local EB Games at the mall aka Electronics Boutique, tell em you have a scratched disc you want fixed, then they'll tell you your options. Very Happy
There is a repair kit available to repair scratched DVDs. They are available at retail stores.  I don't have one, but I was told they work. Like mentioned above, if the scratch is too bad it is unlikely it would repair that.  But the kit doesn't cost that much.  You might look here:

You have to be REAL CAREFULL when you buff them out with the proper compound or you can destoy the disc easily
Surface scratches to the protective, plastic on the disc can be buffed out a variety of different ways, but scratches deep enough to penetrate and harm the actual metallic reflective layer of the disc are another matter.
