What does that do (I'm sorry if I'm oblivious to an obvious term) and how do I do that?

He wants to know if you've tried re-loading windows on your machine. He may be misreading what you typed. Is it that your trying to take screen caps and it wont let you when you try, or you dont know how to do it at all?

If its the latter, use power dvd, it has a really good capture function. Just click the camera icon and configure the player to save it where you choose.
VLC Player works like a charm. It's free too.

Jeff, Crystal Player.  Just hit 'C' for a screen cap.  Plays most any format. You don't need to pause.
I never download anything without the intent of buying it.  I've also never downloaded a movie, strictly television.

Also, I've read a statement from the MPAA, that uploading pirated films is illegal, not downloading them.  I think I have also heard that downloading tv episodes is legal so long as you have a subscription to the network that carries the show.

Don't worry, I'm not a criminal, I download episodes and then delete them when the DVD box set comes out.

Gotta love downloader logic...lol

It may shock you to learn that downloading isn't illegal everywhere Shocked

To answer the question though, you can use power dvd (which you will no doubt download...hehehe) to open a video file and take a screen shot of it the same way you would a DVD. Just tell it you wanna open a file on your hard disk.
Thanks

No way to get RealPlayer to do it, huh?  I'll try the other ones.  Thanks for replying.
I have Imesh 5.0. It kinda works.
Thanks Chris, but I was also wondering about downloaded video files.  Don't worry, I'm not a criminal, I download episodes and then delete them when the DVD box set comes out.
PowerDVD, WinDVD, pretty much any DVD playback software.
Screen Caps
Does anyone know of a program that will allow me to pause a video file and save a screen cap.  If you do please let me know and tell me how to do it.  Much appreciated.
