I normally use VLC,
but I much prefer Media Player Classic(a.k.a. Quicktime alternative)

The only way I've been able to get it to work is by playing the DVD through a VCL player (free) and then using Capture Me (free). Basically it's a pain in the ass. If there's any other way, please, let me know.
