See what I mean!!
I've been saying this that almost all the major movie studios are fast tracking releases from cinemas to dvd as profits dwindle.

See the fast announcements of Bewitched, Monster In-Law, Charlie & Chocolate Factory, Stealth, the list goes on!

I am now confident that this will and should drive out those idiots who think piracy is O.K. because when consumers like us see a pattern happening that dvd's we want are coming out faster than expected, they won't need to buy pirated copies!
What do you think??

And why are you guys complaining about the double dipping on Fox dvd's?? At least you're getting a good, if not better copy( in terms of resolution, picture and sound ) of the actual movies than other countries. Not to mention better dvd covers! And you get them FIRST!

I think the two release system they are using now is the best of both worlds.

I hardly go to the cinema and am only interested in the movie with a good soundtrack so I would get the initial release. Whilst the collectors and those with an interest in the movie will get the feature packed edition, which arrives several months down the line.

In the ideal world, the basic edition should come out at the same time as a digital cinema release worldwide, which I think is likely to happen within a few years. Worldwide release of bare DVD releases is likely to have less copyright issues between regions too.

Yeah I do see, but you already said that in your other thread. Not to sound ignorant, but, why make a new one?

Well i think with last years release of the original Star Wars trilogy and this years release of King Kong. All of the backlogged stuff is pretty much available so the studios have to put out movies sooner so they will have fresh merchandise on the shelves.
