Sorry, I really am only kidding with this one. Although I shouldn't even really joke about Highlander 2 as it acknowledges its existance, which is NOT a good thing to do.

Aliens was good, but I think it was just a really good B-Movie. It took the terror the Alien represented in the previous film, and made it into a pawn, a minion. We were terrified of it in Alien, but in Aliens it was, ok, set up the drone guns, we're safe. So for me, Alien is the best one. Aliens is really very good, but not the masterpiece everyone calls it. Alien 3 is underrated.
I prefered The Godfather 2 over the first one.
I tend to enjoy The Empire Strikes Back over A New Hope.
Those are the first two that pop in my mind for the moment.

Hmmm, that's a toughie. I would say no, because it is a reboot, thus different continuity. But I don't see why it can't be included.

Might be a bit of opposition to this one but I rate Spider-man 2 as being better than Spider-man, just due to the fact that I didn't have to put up with the c**ppy Goblin in the second one...

Anyway, one film comes to mind is Rush Hour 2. It was better and more exciting and funny than the first. Can't to see Rush Hour 3!! Only two more months or so to wait!

I like Superman 2 more than the first one. And I love 'em both but Toy Story 2 might just have the edge over the firstone.

Superman 2 the donner cut is a lot better than superman! Are we also forgetting The Empire Strikes Back here?!
I found Lethal Weapon 2 is be better han the first one, better villains,story and humour. Empire is better than Star Wars but the Donner cut of Superman II might have been better than Superman, had Donner been able to properly finish it. The DVD cut was interesting but needed a lot of work.
Back to the future 2, one of my all time favorites. Loved the way they integrated the first one. (without having crispin glover back, aka. george McFly)

Die Hard 4 (aka Live Free or Die Hard) Best Bruce Willis movie since the first Die Hard.
Outrageous statement (although not as outrageous as darth raph's Superman II comment)! Both Die Hard 2 and The Last Boy Scout are better than Die Hard 4.less.

Attack of th Clones was better than The Phantom Menace
Revenge of the Sith was better than Attack of the Clones
Die Hard 4 had me up until he manages to avoid a jet firing heat seeking missles at him while driving a truck, you take that part out, it would be as good as the rest of the franchise.
As for my two cents about sequals beter than their predecessors:
